    Smooth Liner(DANIL SMC)

Smooth Liner is a new medical device that uses a heart-shaped cannula for incision and subcision and irradiates high-frequency waves for treatment of wrinkles, scars and tightening effect. Dr. Dong-hyun Ahn of Daeyoung Plastic Surgery is one of the experts in applying Smooth Liner to plastic surgery procedures.

“The key characteristic of Smooth Liner’s cannula is the heart-shaped blade at the tip. In subcision of deep lesions such as scars, cannula needs to be inserted while tapping the surgical area for subsequent aesthetic healing of the wound. The uniquely shaped cannula is inserted into the skin to disconnect the fiber bands attached to wrinkles and scars. New tissues fill up the incised area and gradually expand the wrinkle or scar to reduce their appearance. This is the basic principle of Smooth Liner.”

Regular fibers or cannulas are not suitable for such procedures. Smooth Liner has successfully differentiated itself from other devices with its heart-shaped cannula.

There are various types of cannulas. Short cannulas are suitable for shallow depth incisions in the facial areas and long cannulas can be used for deeper lesions. With Smooth Liner, a thread or filler can be injected in the cannula for creating synergy with high-frequency energy in lifting procedures, as well as wrinkle and scar removal.

“High-frequency promotes collagenesis in the skin. The thread provides physical support to pull up the skin tissues. The two methods differ in mechanism but combining them creates synergistic effect. Combination of two different modalities also allow a surgeon to try creative techniques. Not everyone can excel in Smooth Liner procedures but it has the benefit of allowing creativity in the surgeon’s techniques.”
