While there are many examples available of the grace, I’ll share a sample from your popular book and movie, Les Miserables. A male by the name of Jean Valjean is released from prison after you have served a 19 year sentence. He’s repeatedly refused shelter for that night, until he could be warmly welcomed using a bishop, Monseigneur Myriel. Jean Valjean did not even attempt to generate bishop’s favor it’s simply as a consequence of bishop’s kindness that Valjean finds a place to stay. Valjean, however, repays his host’s hospitality by stealing his silverware and running away. Valjean is later caught by the police and cut back to your bishop. The authorities think that the bishop will press charges, even so the bishop declares the silverware had been a gift understanding that Jean Valjean has promised to reform, they later does, and procedes go into a factory which prosperity to your town. Jean Valjean does not promise to fix his ways if given a gift. Instead, he could be touched by the undeserved kindness, mercy, and favor the bishop “graces” upon him and it’s also because of this act of kindness, that Valjean changes. This is a great illustration showing the verse during the Bible that claims God’s kindness contributes to repentance. I favor the content translation which states it using this method: “God is kind, but he’s not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us in a radical life change” (Romans 2:4). God’s hand is outstretched to everyone by an action of His mercy and charm, but only some tend to grab a hold of it and allow him to lead.
