Reasons for Male Pattern Hair Loss

 

Male patt ern hair loss is also called androgenetic alopecia and commonly known as bald head.

 

It usually begins when men are in their late 20s or their 30s, but the age range within which hair loss occurs is being lowered gradually.

 

Basically, fine and discolored soft hair, instead of normally thick hair, are seen from the forehead to the crown of the head in bald-headed patients.

In general, M-shaped hair loss appears along the hairline of the forehead and is advanced to the crown of the head.

 

In some cases, hair loss progresses starting from the crown of the head.

 

Almost normal hair remains on the back of the head and bilateral temporal regions because these are not affected by male hormones.

 

Even in women, male pattern hair loss is frequently seen.

 

Although not seriously advanced unlike the pattern observed in men, hair loss in women is characterized by the condition of having no hair on the parting region and the crown of the head with the hairline usually maintained. 

 

There are various and complex reasons for male pattern hair loss.
