In recent years, the no-cut FUE sampling has been more increasingly applied, such as having only the hair to be taken cut short or directly inserting a punch tip into the long hair.
In the past, when the eyebrows or eyelashes were transplanted, the FUSS sampling method was mainly used because the hair follicles obtained via the FUE has a very short hair, making it difficult to match the direction of hair during the transplant.
However, using the FUE sampling method, hair follicles can be currently obtained while leaving long hair intact by creating a thin slit on a punch. Thus, the FUE came to be widely used in almost all fields.
Of course, such sampling method that requires no partial head shaving takes a long time and increases the surgeon's fatigue level.
Therefore, it is necessary to be careful about selecting a proper surgical method. If the surgeon's fatigue level becomes too high during sampling, it may adversely affect the entire surgical process or the operation results.
The surgical process is as important as sampling for a successful hair transplant.
It is also important to have surgical teams including nurses accustomed to the FUSS sampling method educated and trained about the FUE sampling method.
The hair follicles obtained via FUE requires more caution because they are extremely vulnerable to external damage.

Surgical Postures
The patient does not necessarily need to maintain a prone position for FUE sampling. Sampling is also possible even in a sitting position.
This sitting position may be more efficient in sampling for same surgeons. However, if the surgeon is not familiar with the FUE sampling method or is using it along with FUSS, it would be better to begin with a prone position.
If the site for sampling is extended around the temporal region, the lateral position is highly likely to make it easier to insert a punch at an appropriate angle while matching the direction of the hair.
