• #4-3. Lifting and Tightening: Overview

Humans have long desired to stay young forever but this is not possible, despite the rapid advance of medical technology. A famous Chinese emperor in the ancient times wished to stay young and live forever. It is said that alchemy developed from his efforts to seek ways to live forever. When we have peace and prosperity, the next biggest concern is naturally to stay young and attractive. The development of rejuvenation technology in medicine is necessary and will continue in the future.

Japanese patients fear downtime and being noticed for receiving plastic surgery. Therefore, simple procedures with minimal downtime and side effects are still the mainstay of Japanese aesthetic medicine. Such trends resulted in practices other not specializing in aesthetic medicine offering aesthetic procedures on the side. However, there is a gradual increase of aesthetic medicine specialists and the competition has become quite stiff in the city of Tokyo. The competition is not as heated as in Korea or Taiwan but in the current Japanese market, doctors do need to offer new devices and techniques continuously to stay in business. Many academic seminars and meetings are being held with active participation by interested doctors. What I saw in Korea a few years ago is happening in Japan now. The attitudes toward aesthetic medicine differs in each country, however, the popularity of rejuvenation medicine is increasing throughout the world and is expected to play a larger role in the field of medicine.

Only then, dotors can develop his or her original methods to satisfy varying needs of patients.
