    1927nm Fractional Laser

The 1927nm fractional laser uses thulium as a medium and produces fractional laser beams in the way of scanner.

The main chromophore is water, and absorbance for water is higher than 1550nm wavelength but lower than 2940nm and 10600nm ablative fractional lasers.

Therefore, as with the 1550nm fractional laser, the 1927nm fractional laser does not vaporize the tissue and creates a microscopic necrotic column (Figure 4).

However, since absorbance for water is usually high, the penetration depth within the tissue is low, and the main target of the 1927nm fractional laser beam becomes the epidermal layer.

Consequently, major indications include superficial lesions such as skin texture and tone, melasma, and blemishes, as well as fine wrinkles (Table 2).

It is used frequently to quickly improve melasma or dark skin, and 6 to 9mJ pulse energy is used as parameters.

In addition, percent coverage is set at 20% or above.
