Yellow Laser forms a laser beam only when copper and bromide are vaporized by applying heat to a medium.

 

Therefore, since it takes about 10 minutes or more to prepare the laser for preheating, and the device generates high heat, the laser generation part and the monitor part that adjusts the laser parameters are separated, and a large amount of current must be used.

 

Thus, it needs a circuit breaker of 50 amps (A), having a disadvantage that it can be used stably only when it is used independently.

Yellow Laser’s Chromophore and Mixing Ratio of Two Wavelengths

 

The chromophore at 578nm wavelength is oxyhemoglobin, and the chromophore at 511nm wavelength is melanin (Figure 1).

 

Depending on the lesion to be treated and chromophore, the ratio of mixing the two wavelengths is changed.

 

To improve blood vessels or redness, yellow 100%, yellow 90%, and green 10% are used, and if there is redness and pigment, yellow 70% and green 30% are used.

 

If the skin tone is light, yellow 50% and green 50% can be used, and pigmented lesions such as freckles and blemishes can be treated with green 100% (Figure 2).
