    Blue nevus

Blue nevus is a spot that looks blue instead of brown or black as it is located under the skin. So, it is called a blue nevus.Usually,it is 1-5mm in size, and is a smooth and flat or slightly elevated round blue nevus.

It is very unlikely to be malignant.Cancerous nevi may appear in older people and may be suspected when observed in the form of nodules.

If the spot is getting bigger(6mm<) and the border is unclean, painful, or sore, cancerous changes should be suspected, and a biopsy should be performed.

For treatment, it can be removed with Er:YAG laser or CO2 laser, but as it must be removed deeply, scars may remain.

In order to prevent scarring, it can be removed ina step-by-step manner or treated in combination with the pin hole technique. Deep spots left immediately after Er:YAG laser or CO2 laser can be removed by using the long pulsed Alexandrite laser with the window technique.

    Acquired melanocytic nevus

Acquired melanocytic nevus is a lesion, commonly called a spot, which develops after birth, increases in size and number as one ages, reaching a peak between 20 and 25 years of age, and decreases in number again in later ages.

It is affected by sunlight. Histologically, it starts with the junctional nevus of a very small and flat pigmented spot at the beginning, usually passing through thecompound nevusand progressing into the intradermal nevus over time.

As it goes down, the size of nevus cells gets smaller and the amount of melanin pigments also gets smaller.
