• #4-1. Types of PDRN/PN and Cosmetic Procedures

▶ Previous Artlcle: #3-6. DNA Fragments (PDRN, PN)

In the last issue I discussed the differences between PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) and PN (Polynucleotide) and their general principles of action.

This time I would like to deal with the types of PDRN/PN products on the market and practical clinical content in cosmetic or anti-aging procedures by cosmetic medicine doctors according to clinic-related papers.

PDRN is a polymer of deoxyribonucleotides consisting of 50 to 2,000 bases in which purines and pyrimidine nucleotides extracted from testis/semen of wild salmons (oncorhynchus keta/oncorhynchus mykiss) through an inactivation process are combined by phosphodiester bonds.

It is a renewable substance (DNA fragments) that promotes rapid regeneration of the tissues against excessive inflammatory responses or tissue damage.

Based on this mechanism of action of PDRN, longer DNA fragments with higher molecular weight can be gelated into three-dimensional porous scaffolds, which is PN.
