• [Product Review]Smooth liner, Lasting acne treatment with minimal pain and complications

    Production overview

The Smooth liner of GTG Wellness provides selective destruction of sebaceous glands using specially insulated micro electrodes. It causes little pain and complications while effectively treating acne and preventing recurrence in the treated area. It is suitable for all patients with acne but is particularly beneficial for patients with acne spreading over an expensive area of the face or the back and recurring acne. Exfoliation or sebum extraction prior to treatment should be avoided unless deemed necessary by the doctor.

    Treatment protocol

For inflamed acne, FCR treatment should follow sebum extraction and 20-30 minutes of topical anesthesia. Depending on the patient’s skin conditions, one can wait 10-15 minutes more after applying topical anesthetic. Sebum has to be extracted before treatment because excess sebum filling the follicle can diffuse the radiofrequency energy and interferes with destruction of sebaceous glands. The electrodes should be fully inserted for the entire duration of the treatment. If not inserted fully, the non-insulated part of the electrode could damage or burn the tissues surrounding sebaceous glands. For severe, inflamed acne, the treatment outcome is better if you treat the target follicle as well as the surrounding tissues. Move the electrode around the follicle one shot at a time. For comedones, carry out topical anesthesia after sebum extraction. Do not remove electrodes after insertion and maintain during the treatment. If there is bleeding, perform hemostasis and continue the treatment. Wipe the treated area with saline solution.

    Precautions

Serious complications are very rare. Common complications include swelling and redness in the treated area. Inflamed acne could develop temporarily due to the surfacing of impurities. These symptoms can be alleviated through additional sebum extraction and AHA (alpha-hydroxy acids)or BHA(beta-hydroxy acids) peels. To prevent pigmentation and skin protection, it is important for the patient to wear sunblock during the day. The recommended frequency of the selective destruction of sebaceous glands is 2-3 monthly treatments.

Skin with acne have poor water to oil balance and takes a longer time to heal than normal skin. To accelerate the healing process and improve the treatment outcome, it is important for the patient to stay hydrated. Also, the patient should wait for a sufficient period of time before trying an exfoliation or other drastic aesthetic procedures. In female patients, it is also helpful to consider menstrual cycle before scheduling treatments for optimal results.

With the right modes and techniques used in the right patient, Smooth liner can provide an optimal treatment option for acne.
