I’ll Global Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer of medical cosmetics. The CEO, Mr. Jung Munseok has focused on dermatologic products since he founded the company in 2004. Mr. Jung is famous for welcoming client feedback and recommendations and reflecting them to product development. He believes that best products understand client needs.

Dr. Maeng Woojae of G Clinic is a medical advisor to I’ll Global. He specializes in aesthetic dermatology and anti-obesity treatments. Currently, he is serving as the President of Korean Academy of Obesity & aesthetic Treatment. He is known for his expertise in both clinical practice and academia.

Mr. Jung and Dr. Maeng have formed a partnership of opening sharing ideas with each other. They say they continue to learn from each other.

D&PS: Among many clients you could choose from, why did you decide to invite Dr. Maeng as your medical advisor?

Mr. Jung: Dr. Maeng has always been quick to provide us with honest opinions and recommendations about our products. And we try our best to reflect that in our products. I decided to ask Dr. Maeng for his feedback on our new product Fox Peel.

Dr. Maeng: As you know, I’ll Global boasts a variety of medical cosmetic product lines. They have long been known for their expertise in medical cosmetics. Our close partnership did not happen just over night. We had been sharing ideas for a long time and started working more closely about 6 years ago. The staff at I’ll Global, including Mr. Jung, are very receptive to client feedback on their products. This allows me to provide them with honest and thorough product reviews.

Peeling Agent with Various Indications

D&PS: Tell us about your contribution as a medical advisor.

Dr. Maeng: I am not an expert in cosmetic products, however, as a clinician I do deal with many different cosmetic products. I offered my advice on Fox Peel after applying the product in various treatment programs and observing patient response and treatment outcome. Chemical peeling has fallen out of favor after the advent of various ablative Lasers including the fractional Laser. In the past, I concocted my own peeling solution for chemical peel procedures. For example, I made my own peeling solutions with various alcohol and acid concentrations for each indication in the hope that I could create a standardized and effective peeling solution. When Mr. Jung asked me for inspiration for a new product, I told him about my troubles of creating my own peeling agent.

Mr. Jung: Dr. Maeng requested that we develop a peeling agent that can be applied to various indications and treatment programs. He also emphasized that the new peeling agent should have excellent stability and safety as most commercial peeling agents caused complications such as excessive dryness or burning sensation despite excellent efficacy. We incorporated Dr. Maeng’s requests in our product development as much as possible.

Dr. Maeng: I thought it would be a good idea to segment the product line, to enable a specialized approach for each indication. I also told Mr. Jung to consider the odor and irritation as most commercial peeling agents available have strong odors and cause skin irritation.

D&PS: In which treatments are you using Fox Peel?

Dr. Maeng: Fox Peel has three product lines that are each specialized for acne, anti-aging, and whitening. I use Fox Peel in various treatment programs at my practice. Fox Peel can be combined with various Laser therapies and regenerative therapies for better results. Fox Peel has the benefit of bringing immediate improvement at little downtime. I have stopped providing single therapies all together. I offer comprehensive treatment programs combining at least two modalities and patient satisfaction is very high.

Adding Fox Peel to various procedures has helped reduce the energy consumption of the devices. When used in monotherapy, energy-based therapies require a high amount of energy for better efficacy. However, when combined with Fox Peel and other adjunct therapies, the energy level of each therapy can be lowered, which also drastically lowers the risk of side effects.
