Dr. Peng discussed new procedures that are very popular in Taiwan.
“Young patients want to become more beautiful and older patients want to appear youthful and energetic. Minimally invasive procedures are very popular and this trend will continue in the future. Filler injection for restoring volume in hollowed areas, botulinum toxin injection for muscle relaxation and restoration, lifting for tightening effect, and laser resurfacing will continue to be in demand. New protocols combining these procedures will also continue to develope.”
Dr. Peng keeps an eye on the Korean market, one of the largest markets for minimally invasive procedures. From his visits to Korea, Dr. Peng could take a glance at the fast changing trends of the aesthetic market.
“I come to Korea about a couple times a year. I was recently invited to APMAC Meeting held by Allergan as a speaker and faculty member. I also keep in contact with my Korean colleagues and visit Korea to keep tabs on the market trends. I see that a lot of Chinese patients are coming to Korea to receive aesthetic treatments. Korea is leading the Asian market by attracting foreign patients.”
Lastly, Dr. Peng provided his outlook on the medical aesthetic market of Asia.
“I foresee that the needle procedures will continue in popularity and lead the global trends. Also, lifting and body contouring devices that offer the shortest downtime will play a key role.”
