“Picocare removes various pigmented lesions causing minimal damage with short pulse duration"

On September 3rd, Wontech held Symposia W at the Chrysanthemum Hall of Seoul Grand Intercontinental Hotel. Symposia W, held twice a year both in Korea and abroad, is a venue for dermatologists to share information and their experiences in dermatologic Laser.

The September event focused on the clinical use of Picocare under the title “Going beyond nano, toward pico; the present and future of long-pulsed Laser” and was attended by over 80 renowned Korean dermatologists. Dr. Park Kibeom of Seoul Dermatology Clinic presided over the event which consisted of three lectures.

The first was led by Dr. Yeo Woonchul of Jongno S&U Dermatology on the topic of “What is picosecond Laser; Clinical application of Picocare.” He found Picocare to be effective in pigmented lesions and tattoo removal. He pointed out “PIH developed using another picosecond Laser but Picocare did not cause any PIH.” He emphasized the need to explain to the patient the risk of bruising or bleeding.

Dr. Seo Seokbae of SAS Dermatologic Clinic presented the next lecture on “Clinical experience of 1064nm·1320nm mercury Laser.” Dr. Ahn Jincheul of Danguk University Medical School presented a talk on “Pre-clinical study on applying Picocare in colored tattoos.” Dr. Ahn explained that Picocare’s dual wavelengths allow removal of both epidermal and dermal pigments as well as tattoos which had been resistant to other treatments. He found Picocare to be effective in tattoos of various colors.

Presenters agreed that Picocare minimizes damage to surrounding tissues due to shorter pulse duration and removes various pigmented lesions and that it is important to pulverize pigments without complications.

Attendees contributed to the discussion with their own reviews of Picocare and evaluated the conference as “very informative.”
