The 6th LASEROPTEK User Meeting Review
A great number of domestic and foreign users participated and held in-depth discussions on pigment treatments.
The sixth LASEROPTEK user meeting was held on October 24, 2015 at the Geumgang Room of Ritz Carlton Seoul. Along with many Korean medical specialists, dermatologists and plastic surgeons from the US, India, Southeast Asia, etc. participated this meeting and held in-depth discussions comparable to those seen in academic seminars.
The focus of the meeting was participant feedback. Surveys were conducted during a presentation to assess the audience’s opinions real-time. Panel discussions offered participants opportunities to ask various questions without time constraints.

The first presentation was given by Dr. Choi Moonsang of Skin Life Clinic in Vancouver, Canada. In his talk titled ‘Finding Perfect Recipes for Success: Pigmentation & Aging,’ Dr. Choi shared with the audience his experience treating various pigmented lesions, in particular, melasma. Dr. Choi conducted surveys on pigment treatments during his talk to increase audience participation.
The next presentation was titled ‘Yes! PIH can be Avoided’ and was given by Dr. Sha Satishkumar Hirachand, a dermatologist from India. He focused on the causes and treatment of PIH. The final talk of the morning session was given by Dr. Steven D. Shapiro of Gardens Dermatology in Florida, US. In his talk titled ‘Importance of Laser & Device Versatility,’ Dr. Shapiro introduced devices used in his practice and shared his experience using LASEROPTEK’s HELIOS II and LOTUS II which he was using often for pigment treatments. Dr. Shapiro also shared his knowhow on effective Laser removal of pigmented lesions in Caucasians.
The first presentation following the lunch break was again led by Dr. Choi of Skin Life Clinic. In his talk titled ‘LOTUS III: Fractional Er:YAG Laser with Variable Pulses,’ Dr. Choi talked about his experience using LOTUS III’s short-pulsed and long-pulsed modes, as well as benefits of combining Laser with PRP.
The last session was a panel discussion where all presenters had an open discussion among themselves and answered questions from the audience regarding LASEROPTEK products.
Generous prizes were given out for raffle winners and Dr. Ju Hong completed the meeting with a closing speech. Participants agreed that LASEROPTEK user meetings are developing in academic breadth and depth comparable to those of an international academic conference.
